About Shelly Thorene Photography
Award Winning Photographer, Shelly Thorene, began studying photojournalism in Minnesota in 1982. A tour through the Art Department at San Jose State University led her to change her major, however, and she received her B.A. in Art with an emphasis in Photography. Shelly has come full circle in her career and is now working as a photographer with the Mountain Democrat, in Placerville, California integrating together her training in both art and photojournalism .
Shelly specializes in commercial photography, working with local artists and businesses to promote their products. She enjoys working with people of all ages and her portrait and wedding photography shows her keen ability to capture and preserve those once in a lifetime, precious moments.
